Hi everyone,

Welcome to Rocky’s Gifts.  I have always wanted to have a gift store and now I have started one.  Hopefully this blog will be more than a shopping site, because I also love to write and have a few blogs running around the net.  Along with a place to find cool gift ideas I will be adding tips on new gadgets that people might find interesting and/or fun.

When I think of gifts I do think of the standards, food, flowers, clothes.  If I know what my readers want it can help me to find it.  One thing that I will have is a beach store.  I love the ocean, lakes, and rivers.  I have never lived too far from water so I am lucky and spoiled in that respect.

So I hope you enjoy the water, too, because the beach store will be going.  I will be open to suggestions because I realize that not everyone can go to the beach year round in every part of the world or the USA.

I am going to feature a lot of ebay auctions on this blog to add to the excitement of getting an item, so if you plan on buying that way you are going to have to be aware of the time constraints.  I am looking forward to this site, and have a lot of ideas for items that will interest everyone and posts to go with it.

Thanks for being a part of this website.

I have always wanted to own either a craft store or some sort of store.  I did have a skateboard shop once at an indoor swapmeet, and I was an outdoor swapmeet store owner for a few years.  The outdoor swapmeet store was some carpet, some tables, and what you had for sale.

I remember a friend of mine and I would hop in a van and cruise the alleys behind the rich folks houses in a nearby town.  It was amazing what you could find set out for us (well probably for the city refuse department), but there were some good finds and they usually got purchased the following weekend.  What a great way to get free inventory!  I do not recommend doing this for your eBay store though.

However, I also bought skateboard parts and resold them, and would assemble skateboards.  People could by them pre-assembled or make their own.  It was a great business.  I did actually pay for some inventory.  When I started though I had friends who had retail shops and I asked them if they would “give” me some inventory to “test” market, and I would either bring back the inventory or the money!  Believe it or not, they trusted me enough to do that.

Those were definitely some of my golden years.  It is amazing how you can pay for college when you are creative.

That was just one of the many ventures I have been in.  From the lemonade stand to the internet, I have always enjoyed having my own business.

Right now since I just started this site, I am really not sure of the direction that it will take.  I have a lot of ideas, since I have access to a variety of products.  I am hoping to have valuable content and where I find items to put up for sale I will do that, too.  Hey, a girls gotta keep a roof over her head and food on the table somehow.

Since this site is new watch for changes and feeds to subscribe to coming along very soon.  I have a dream of where this site can go and it is just limited by time, since I do a whole lot of other things, and have several blogs.

Subscribe to the feed I have now, while I find one to add so you can subscribe by email.

Thanks for reading.
